In addition to the alternating shear angle, the bevel angle
of the blades has been optimized for clean cuts and long edge life. At 1-1/8" diameter, the cutting arc and mass of the head combine with those superior edges to deliver smooth cuts and virtually no grain lifting on even the gnarliest quilted hard maple.
We're not entirely sure why
full-length alternating shear angle blades haven't been tried before. Heck, we're not even exactly sure why they work the way they do. We have some theories, but we’re not anxious to share them with the world at this point. What we know for sure is, these are true game-changers when it comes to pattern routing. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention they're about half the price of similarly sized solid carbide spiral or compression pattern bits.
