Ultra-Shear borrowed a technique
from metal-working tool companies to build spiral router bits unlike anything else on the market. Solid carbide bits with cutting diameters greater than the shank involve grinding away immense amounts of carbide which is both time consuming and wasteful. Carbide tipped bits lack the shear-cutting efficiency of spiral geometry. Ultra-Shear brazes a solid carbide head onto an economical steel shank, then turns the entire assembly as one unit, delivering the perfect concentricity and superior cutting geometry found in solid carbide spirals. This hybrid approach opens up a world of opportunities for unique, high-performance designs while keeping prices competitive.
